10 motion graphics exercises using After Effects or Maya
#1 is a plexus like animation made with mash for Maya that has trails that connects to the nearest point which expands outwards then condenses into a ball by using a volume axis field. I followed this youtube tutorial here: https://youtu.be/YpQ7_t56Go0
#2 Is a curl noise effect made with mash for Maya using a head from the content browser and using a signal node set to curl noise.
I followed this tutorial here: https://youtu.be/Z_7yOMYYIS8
#3 Is another plexus animation made with mash for Maya using a few mash nodes and connecting them to n-particles I was able to trap the balls inside of an invisible sphere. The balls were textured with substance painter.
#4 Is a water animation made with TrapCode Mir, there was quite a few settings that needed to be tweaked with lighting, material, geometry, and fractal settings to make this one. I followed this youtube tutorial here: https://youtu.be/sm-HbbalEy8
#5 Is a Particle animation that traces the edges of a png image using a few layered Trapcode Particular effects with various settings. I followed this youtube tutorial here: https://youtu.be/irliy9QsaR8
#6 Is an exercise we did in class to move a ship with expressions in After Effects.
#7 Is an exercise we did in class to create moving masks with lighting and shadows in After Effects.
#8 Is an exercise we did in class to create a moving composition from a still image without losing part of the image, we masked out the two characters, filled in the background, and assembled everything in After Effects to create motion.
#9 is a motion tracking exercise that was done in class, I recorded peter with his baton then brought the footage into After Effects where I tracked the motion of the baton and had text follow that motion.
#10 Is an exercise we did in class to create a form of particles using particle systems 2 in After Effects, I made tornado of bubbles by messing around with the settings on this effect.
